A limiting factor is something that decreases a population in some way when the population gets to large such as water availability, space, and disease. when a population gets to large more fresh water is needed to sustain the life of the population, but when it gets to big for everybody to have enough water then the population decreases.

Another factor that affects a population is the area it takes up, because the larger that a population gets the less space each person has to live in. With this comes many other factors involved because if there is less space involved for a large amount of people conflicts could happen such as killings and disease. The larger a population is the easier it gets to spread disease especially in a smaller area because the disease does not have to travel as far to get to more hosts so in this way the population could also be decreased.
